Chase the Ghost
Every runner
has a
ghost.
A 14-week 5km season built to outrun the runner you were. Your first eligible 5km becomes the runner you will chase for the rest of the season. Your first 5km, your fiftieth, or your first in years. Everyone gets a Ghost.
Tuesday 4 August to Tuesday 10 November 2026
The Ghost
Your 5km
sets the mark.
Your first submitted 5km becomes your Ghost.
If you have completed an eligible 5km within the previous eight weeks, you can submit that result immediately. Otherwise, complete one eligible 5km during the four-week opening window.
Joined later than that? Reach out to Cam or Shane and we will help you get a Ghost sorted, whenever you start.
Once your Ghost is set, train with purpose, run another 5km and try to catch it. Every faster result becomes the next Ghost waiting to be caught.
Road. Track. Trail. Parkrun. Any verified outdoor 5km counts.
Your time. Your target.
Always moving.
The season journey
Two phases.
Phase one
Meet your Ghost
You have four weeks to submit your opening 5km. Use an eligible result from the previous eight weeks or complete a new verified 5km during the opening window. Once the opening window closes, your Ghost is locked in and the chase begins. Missed it? Reach out to Cam or Shane at any point in the season and we will help you get a Ghost sorted.
Phase two
Chase your Ghost
Every eligible 5km is an opportunity to improve. Catch your Ghost and your faster time immediately becomes the next one waiting to be caught. There is no limit to how many Ghosts you can catch before the season ends.
How it works
Four steps in.

The Work
Ghosts are built
on Tuesdays.
At 5:30am, before the day begins, we train together.
Fourteen weeks of purposeful Run Club sessions designed to develop the speed, strength and control required to bring your Ghost within reach.
Come on your own or bring someone with you. Nobody gets left behind on the road.
Fridays help too. Run Theory Squad is our paid track session at CQU, and stacking it with Tuesday gives your Ghost two shots at progress every week.
